Stefan Thompson: New Works

  • Wall Space Gallery 358 Richmond Rd Ottawa, ON, K2A 0E1 Canada

Meet the Artist: Opening Reception May 2, 7-9pm

Like the magnetically imaginative creatures he conceives, exhibitions by Ottawa eco-artist Stefan Thompson are a rare delight – caught like the fleeting sight of something in the forest. Join us at Wall Space Gallery from May 2 – 24 for a glimpse of Thompson’s fantastical and highly sought after sustainable artworks.

As an artist seeking complete ecological sustainability, Stefan Thompson continues to advance his style. This May’s exhibition at Wall Space Gallery follows Thompson’s recent travels to British Columbia and New York State for extensive workshops in traditional manufacturing techniques. Thompson’s life and art practice are constantly in motion. His distinctive style, featuring the use of charcoal, soot, natural paints and carving, adapts to new techniques and the influence of new geographies, while pushing the limits of ecologically friendly artists’ materials. Like the artist, Thompson’s artworks are fleeting in their appearances at the gallery. Sometimes enchanting, sometimes frightening in their visceral power, Thompson’s creations transfix viewers and are always quickly spirited home by the artist’s existing and ever-growing following of collectors.

Don’t miss your opportunity to experience Stefan Thompson’s most recent body of work this May at Wall Space Gallery, Westboro.
