After Four years at British Columbia’s University of Victoria, Joanna Baxter packed her bags and completed her degree in Grenoble, France (Oui, c’est vrai!)  In 1999, she was selected to participate in the pilot ‘Youth International Self-Employment’ business program; an initiative sponsored by the Human Resources Development.  It was here her entrepreneurial spirit came to full fruition.  As such, she subsequently embarked on design and architecture courses at Vancouver’s renowned Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.

A self-taught jeweler, Baxter works form her private studio in West Vancouver.  Using natural and synthetic materials in her work, Joanna focuses on designing jewellery as centerpieces.

When she isn’t pouring her heart into her art and her work, Baxter is doing the stuff she loves that ties for second place:  Traveling and sailing.
