Have you been by the gallery lately? This month we experienced an enlivening International Women's Day with the well-attended opening of our show #MakeItHappen #MakeArtHappen, which was pre-ceded with a highly successful charity fundraiser a few days prior. We'd like to take a moment to thank all our guests, our brilliant artists, and contributors who made the events such a hit.
To read about our current show, check out a recent article written by art critic Peter Simpson of the Ottawa Citizen here. The show will be on for the rest of the week until March 29th, so make sure you don't miss it!
On top of showcasing new works from featured artists Lori Victor, Sharon Kelly, Erin Vincent, and Kelly Grace, we've also received several new works from some of our other visual and jewellery artists.
We've picked up several new paintings from Kingston artist, Lori Richards, most of which can currently be viewed at our Westboro gallery (a few have already gone to happy homes). Always a prevalent choice amongst our collectors, there is something indefinably seductive and majestic about Richards vastly differing, interpretive landscapes. Some of her latest series reflect scenes of shadowed wanderers amongst towering trees in vivid palettes, instilling viewers with an awe-inspiring sense of the sublime.
Following the success of our Flavours of February show, we were also in need of new works by Sheila Davis. The artist swiftly answered our call and delivered seven new, striking panels which can be found at both our Westboro and Orleans gallery.
Contact us to arrange a viewing or at-home trial before these paintings are gone!
We simply must mention Caelen Ellis has also just dropped off dazzling new pieces from his line, Fluid Jewellery. Fluid is not only local to Ottawa, but also uses Canadian and ethically sourced diamonds in addition to fair-mined silver. Several of these new pieces sport classy white, champagne, and grey diamond rose cuts that are entirely accessible at a modest range. Make sure to check them out the next time you are in, but be forewarned that their sparkle is irresistible! Custom sized rings are available upon request.
I hope you've also been keeping an eye on our event page, which is updated frequently to reveal our upcoming exhibitions. We can assure you, as the new work begins to arrive for our April shows, that there are plenty more exciting things to come.
Until next time,
