Exhibition Dates: June 14th- July 6th, 2014
Meet the artists on June 14th, 2-5 pm
In "Family Tradition", Sharon Kelly’s goal is to create a tangible expression to her abstract landscapes, a product of both the artist’s memory and imagination. A feature artist in the Ottawa Art Gallery’s Art Auction event, Kelly is known for her technique of collage as well as mixed acrylic mediums that result in a variety of unpredictable textures and pigment reactions. The process becomes a combination of trial and error, random and controlled, as well as hidden and obvious. Borrowing from her inspiration of the shoreline, Kelly’s panels create a sense of euphoria akin to that one would sense from the power of standing by the water’s edge.
Join us for our opening reception of three solo shows featuring Ottawa artist Sharon Kelly, as well as Toronto artists Ian Busher and Julia Mori. Wall Space Gallery is proud to host artists who are masters in their mediums, and are especially delighted to present three strong cases of formalist artists – those who focus primarily on the inherent qualities and formal elements of their medium. Whether it be canvas, wood, or aluminum each artist has created their own unique landscape through abstraction, exploration, and experimentation.
