Exhibition Dates: June 14- July 6, 2014
Meet the artists on June 14th, 2-5 pm
In “Pause and Process”, Ian Busher is continuing with his photo and epoxy resin process but has also begun to play with the likeness of landscape from the decay he captures. Adding stencil silhouettes of animal forms in an imperfect over-sprayed outline adds a layer of depth and soft focus to the printed matter, a sense of location, and a handmade feel. Some pieces have paint splatter while some have oil pastel script, adding a monologue of thought or whisper to the piece while the vibrant unnatural animal colours keep the work feeling modern and fresh. Landscape, meet street art.
Join us for our opening reception of three solo shows featuring Ottawa artist Sharon Kelly, as well as Toronto artists Ian Busher and Julia Mori. Wall Space Gallery is proud to host artists who are masters in their mediums, and are especially delighted to present three strong cases of formalist artists – those who focus primarily on the inherent qualities and formal elements of their medium. Whether it be canvas, wood, or aluminum each artist has created their own unique landscape through abstraction, exploration, and experimentation.
